BINST Architects strikes a fine balance between multifunctional and livable
In two of its latest projects, BDNA member BINST Architects has created fresh, livable spaces for its clients.
Take the new headquarters of construction conglomerate, Cordeel Group NV, a striking, sleek 5,000m² office block in the sky.
The two-storey structural engineering marvel stands on two concrete blocks which house the lifts and spans 73m across the water at the head of a former shipyard dock. Reflective glazed floor-to-ceiling windows offer employees a panoramic view of the river Scheldt and the town of Temse on either side, while a flexible layout of the office space within allows multipurpose spaces for employees such as meeting rooms and spacious terraces.

Another masterpiece from BINST Architects is the newly-opened headquarters of DPG Media (De Persgroep Publishing) on the Kievitplein in Antwerp, heralding a much-needed refresh to the old neighbourhood.
The idea was that the office would serve as a dynamic boost to the entire station area.
Standing 46m high and occupying more than 22,000m², the eye-catching building houses a brasserie and on the ground floor, generous public space and offers a creative and flexible working environment for 400 staff. There are also four accessible roof gardens that provide a green respite from the demands of work.
The broadcast studio spans levels two and three in a glass box, while the building’s crowning glory is the belvedere that offers employees and visitors a panoramic 360-degree view of the city.
