DETOO architects in organising committee for 13th World Congress for Design and Health
From 28 September to 1 October, this year’s World Congress for Design and Health, organised by the International Academy for Design and Health, will take place in Ghent and BDNA member DETOO Architects, is on its organising committee.
As one of the largest architectural practices specialising in healthcare and education projects in Belgium, DETOO has won multiple accolades in the sector, including at the World Architecture Festival for the multifunctional AZ Zeno Hospital in Knokke.
CEO John Cogge will facilitate and moderate a panel discussion with industry speakers including Stephen Sinclair of HSPC Health Architects Australia, Andrea Brambilla of Politecnico di Milano, Rob McBride and Debrah Ryan pf McBride Charles Ryan, and Alice Yeung Hong Kong SAR about designing facilities for mental health patients.
The company is also planning the social activities and study tour that will complement the conference programme.
With a theme of Less is More, the congress will explore how changes in the built environment and technological changes can contribute to better health and wellness. Attendees can look forward to full day sessions with keynote speakers and panel discussions with professionals from the healthcare, medical, higher education and built environment sectors.
There will also be a gala awards dinner on the last day of the Congress to celebrate the winners of the Design & Health International Academy Awards. The awards recognise excellence in the research and practice of designing healthy built environments.
